Professional Background
Shantel Drayton is a dedicated nonprofit leader, public administrator, educator, and community advocate with more than a decade of experience serving individuals, families, and communities throughout South Florida. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University (FAMU) and later obtained a Master of Public Administration from Florida International University.
Throughout her career, Shantel has led and improved operational systems, developed community-focused initiatives, managed public service programs, and provided oversight for multiple contracts and partnerships. Her professional experience includes coordinating court-related programs, addressing systemic community challenges, and implementing strategies that improve organizational performance and service delivery.
As an Adjunct Political Science Professor, she has also contributed to the development of future leaders by helping students better understand public policy, government systems, and civic responsibility. Her work consistently reflects a commitment to education, empowerment, and community advancement.
As Board Chair of Bridge The Gap Wealth & Empowerment Center, Shantel provides strategic leadership and guidance while helping shape the organization’s vision and long-term impact. Her passion for community service, leadership development, and creating opportunities for others continues to drive the organization’s mission of connecting people with the resources, education, and support needed to thrive.
