David I. Harris is a highly respected law enforcement leader, public safety professional, and community advocate with more than 35 years of distinguished service in law enforcement. Throughout his career with the Riviera Beach Police Department, he held numerous leadership positions including Acting Chief of Police, Assistant Chief of Police, Major, Lieutenant, Sergeant, Detective Sergeant, and Police Officer. His extensive experience spans police operations, criminal investigations, community policing, emergency response, leadership development, and public safety administration.
Known for his commitment to service, integrity, and community engagement, David has dedicated his career to building stronger relationships between law enforcement and the communities they serve. His leadership has played a significant role in advancing public safety initiatives, mentoring future leaders, and supporting collaborative approaches to addressing community challenges.
In addition to his law enforcement career, David serves as a Reserve Police Commander with the North Palm Beach Police Department and as a Sentinel Leadership Advisor. He has completed extensive advanced training in leadership, emergency management, tactical operations, terrorism response, homicide investigations, undercover operations, and organizational development. His contributions to public safety have earned him numerous honors and awards recognizing his courage, professionalism, and commitment to excellence.
Beyond his professional service, David remains actively involved in community organizations and entrepreneurship through his business, Bending Rods Inc., a fishing charter service. As a Board Member of Bridge The Gap Wealth & Empowerment Center, he brings decades of leadership experience, strategic insight, and community-focused service that help support the organization’s mission of empowering individuals, strengthening families, and creating pathways to opportunity.
