Professional Background
Debra Rebecca Wilson is a lifelong community advocate whose passion for service, leadership, and engagement has shaped both her professional career and community involvement. A native of Riviera Beach, Florida, she attended Suncoast Community High School and later earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics from Florida Memorial College in 1984.
Following graduation, Debra began a successful career with Motorola, where she served for more than twenty years as an Analyst. Throughout her tenure, she earned numerous promotions, awards, bonuses, and professional recognitions that reflected her commitment to excellence, discipline, and leadership. Her ability to solve problems, build relationships, and lead with integrity established a strong foundation for the work she would later pursue in community service.
After retiring from Motorola, Debra devoted herself to caring for family members, including her mother and aunt, demonstrating the compassion and dedication that continue to define her leadership style today. Inspired by a desire to serve others, she became actively involved in community outreach and volunteer initiatives. Her commitment to helping individuals and families eventually led to opportunities with community-based organizations, where she focused on engagement, advocacy, and resource coordination.
As Treasurer of Bridge The Gap Wealth & Empowerment Center, Debra brings extensive leadership experience, financial awareness, organizational insight, and a deep understanding of community needs. Her lifelong commitment to service, empowerment, and relationship-building helps strengthen the organization’s ability to connect people with meaningful opportunities and support systems.
